Life is a journey. It is in response to personal experiences and relationships that I like to create art. A lot of my work, conceptually, deals with the power of nature and the story of the journey; especially the journey to belonging or acceptance of the self or within a community. I am in particular interested in the transitive nature of the journey within a person, and find the way people react to experiences and how experiences change a person fascinating. I’ve found these things to be universal truths among people: it’s impossible to escape nature and it’s hard to escape the community. Both of these things are an integral part of daily life and so deeply ingrained within humanity.
