I create two-dimensional illustrations to share the worlds inside my head, to share the scenarios and ideas that I generateas a reaction to the multi-media world around me. Media inspires me and drives me to create in as many ways as I can. I am a traditional and digital mixed media artist who works with drawing materials, acrylic and oil paints, color pencils , markers and also digital painting. I enjoy studying world cultures and world history as well as the physical sciences of the world. I love color and texture and am striving to include that in more of my artwork. I prefer to just dive into my work and see what I can create rather than cycling through rough drafts and sketches but I do realize this is an area where I need to grow and strenghten.

I desire to create artwork that is enjoyed and admired for what is seen on the surface, while also being able to reach another level with the story and ideas deep inside. It does not matter to me whether you can draw some sort of meaning or philisophical understanding from my artwork. Just enjoy it.

I was born in Mansfield, Ohio and was raised on a quiet street in Lexington, Ohio. I started drawing since I could hold a pencil, first horses then cowgirls and princesses. A fascination with royalty and Disney followed and soon after a love of reading, science and history. Video games and anime came next, bringing with them their graphical styles and the cartoonyness that has followed me since. I'll never forget the moment when I first sat down to play SquareSoft's Final Fantasy VIII and as those computer generated waves crashed on the sand, I knew I wanted to be an artist and tell stories.
