    • FROM AT HOME / OFF CAMPUS:
      • Open FETCH or your FTP program (Filezilla). Only change these settings:

      • User: your full bgsu email

Project 1 Final Image due and critique.  (Have your saved file ready for critique and I will instruct you where to place them on the server when we first come in to class.) 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28

  • Introduce Project 2 (Midterm Project)
  • DEMO - Digital SLR Camera Essentials (If you have a digital camera with manual settings, bring it to class and following along during the demo.  It will help if you have a camera to experiment with hands-on, but if you do not have a camera to bring, make sure to take notes and review when you check out a camera!)

  • Assign:  Reading Assignment – A Technique For Producing Ideas  (Download the reading on the “Readings/Handouts” page.  Remember, we will be having a quiz on this reading next Wednesday.)

  • DUE - Project 3 Research (I will be coming around to check your sketchbook entries, grades will be taken.)
  • DEMO – Masking Techniques, Content Aware Fill, Puppet Tool, Using 3D objects in PS

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 9

  • QUIZ on A Technique for Producing Ideas.  (This quiz will be a mix of multiple choice and fill in the blank questions, roughly between 10-15 questions total.)
  • Project 2 and mid-term grades will be sent to your email during this week. 
  • Possibly more advanced demos or more lab time (all depends on how I feel the class is coming along with Project 3.) 

WEEK 13

MONDAY, NOV. 14

  • PROJECT 3 CRITIQUE – Have your finished image in jpg form, ready for critique.  You must also have a hard copy of your artist statement and title.  Attendance is mandatory. 

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 16

  • DEMO – More advanced techniques.

WEEK 14

MONDAY, NOV. 21

  • DUE – Project 3 final print.  Your print must have a printed border, mounted on foam-core board, and cut nicely. 
  • DUE – Project 3 working file and resource files organized in a folder on your personal server folder. 
  • Introduce Final Project

WEEK 15

Extensive Final Project Research Due (1 on 1 meetings with me to discuss concept and research material, grades will be taken, see rubric for more info).

Last Lab Day for Final Project (You should have your image submitted to the print lab and readying materials for mounting/wrapping)

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 7  (LAST DAY OF REGULARLY SCHEDULED CLASS)

-FINAL PROJECT CRITIQUE DAY – Your final project must be 100% done.  Printed, mounted, and cut, or wrapped as canvas.  Attendance is mandatory for this session.  Also, DO NOT FORGET YOUR ARTIST STATEMENT AND PROJECT TITLE!

FINALS WEEK 17

NO CLASS

DUE – DVD with all project working files, assignment working files, and resource images.  Contents should be organized on the disc and turned in with your name in Sharpie on the face and in a protective case.  Buy a DVD-R and bring it to this class.  Also, make sure you have all of your folder contents ready and organized.  We will burn our discs together during this class session.
