DVD Requirements

DUE – Finals Week Session – Tuesday, December 7th (8.00-10:20am)

During this class session, you will burn your class contents to DVD. Your attendance is mandatory. If you do not show up, your final grade will be reduced by one letter.

Make sure that you purchase a DVD-R, and NOT a CD-R. A DVD can write more data to a single disk and we will require more than what a CD will allow. A DVD-R can be purchased for a few dollars at the campus bookstore. Make sure you keep the DVD case the disc comes in, because you MUST turn in your DVD disc inside a case.

Organize your files into a hierarchy that is easy to navigate. On your DVD, you should have 5 folders : P1, P2, P3, P4, and A5 (Digital Painting). Within each of those folders, include the following:

P1 - Portrait: The Inner Self Portrait: Place the final working psd file (with all working layers) into this folder. This file should be the full resolution image created in Photoshop. Also, create a folder titled “Resources” and place all original resource photos in this folder.

P2 - Triptych Midterm: Place the final working psd files of all three images (with all working layers) into this folder. These files should be the full resolution images created in Photoshop.
ALSO, place your final printed image (all three images in one with border) in this folder. Also, create a folder titled “Resources” and place all original resource photos in this folder.

P3 - Final Project: Place the final working psd file (with all working layers) into this folder. This file should be the full resolution images created in Photoshop. Also, create a folder titled “Resources” and place all original resource photos in this folder.

A4 - Digital Painting: This is the digital painting you should have been working on all semester long. Place the final working psd file (with all working layers) into this folder. This file should be the full resolution images created in Photoshop. Also, remember that this image should be colorized if you chose one of the original black and white images.

All of these files should be organized into folders and ready for burning PRIOR to the Finals Week class session. You will not have time during the session to organize your files and folders. Once again, have everything organized into appropriate folders and ready for burning.

When we come to class, I will show you how to set up a burn folder and we will burn our discs together during this class session. This shouldn’t take too long, but it is CRITICAL to have all of your folders organized and ready to put on a disc.
