To learn the technical idiosyncrasies of basic point and shoot digital photography.
To grasp the nature of image making with point and shoot digital.
To continue the process of understanding good digital prints.
To analyze and make artistic comments on the genre of documentary photography.

Study the genre of documentary photography and contemplate how these images contribute to recording life and framing our notions of the past. Think about the intention and reality of documenting events with cameras.

It is up to you to define history. It can be an event (or events) that happened in your personal life yesterday, a fictional event that never happened, a famous event that you are changing to present a different outcome, or any other reasonable interpretation.

Choose your own history to reinvent and base your aesthetics in documentary photography of the past and present.

Review the artists covered in class:

For yourself, Create a backup CD with a file structure and reference contact sheets as you did in your last assignment. I will not collect this, it is for your own reference.

You will create a contact sheet from the images that you shot for this assignment.

Try to make a cohesive body of work, that is five works that go together in some way.

Print your four best images using the CAT lab or the resources in room 202. NOTE: No journal sketches required for this assignment, but I suggest using it for your own benefit

Submission Requirements

Put your contact sheet in this folder.

Put all five images in this folder.
Images should be 5MB or smaller (turn-in version only) and be tiff or jpeg.
