 Improvements in techniques for grinding lenses

 The Great Art of Light and Shadow by Jesuit Scholar, Kircher published in Rome. The book describes a new invention called the Magic Lantern. It is a box with a light source and curved mirror that projected images. He also described the Camera Obsura in the book.

     New edition of The Great Art of Light and Shadow describes how a revolving glass disk with a series of painted images, could be used to tell a story. The images were intended to be seen separately.
