    Object Alphabets: find examples!

    Choose a word. Find images that relate to your chosen word that may be used to construct the letters of your alphabet.

    Bring your alphabet concept and images on Monday.

    • Create in your homework folder a new folder named "Assigment 2, alphabet". In that folder place your psd(s) and flattened tif files.

  • Review and memorize all of the shortcut keys for the tools we've discussed so far as well as basic Mac operations such as opening & closing documents, copying, pasting, creating a new document.
  • • Due: in homework folder your final versions of your word(s), i.e. Alphabet Assignment.

    • Due: in homework folder the object alphabet images that you found online.

     

    Week 5

    • Presentations of Metadata: Each student presents one result of the metadata research they did.

    • Read by Thursday: Articles on "Rule of Thirds" and "Cropping: Every Picture Tells a Story"

    Due:

    • All corrections to the Object Alphabet assignment are due in your homework folder before class begins.

    • Short demo & lecture, reading, & vid: cropping tool, Rule of thirds

    • Students take snapshots in small groups, which are duplicated for each member of the "group".

    Assigned: Crop several of your snapshots to alter the original emotive feel, content and/or intent. Be prepared to show the "before" and "after" versions in class and provide an explanation for your cropping decision(s).

    Bring 5 or more personal photos for an in-class demo and new assignment on Wed.

    • Check resolution of images shot with student cameras

    • Intro: Blending modes s

    • Explanation of new assignment

    • HOTSEAT: Expect to be called up to the teacher's station to demonstrate your knowledge of the shortcut keys.

    Assigned:

    Emotive change via cropping, montaging visual elements and using blending modes (combining images is also allowed!)

    I'd like to see several image-results on Monday...
