Tim Burton
Born in Burbank, California. He was a recluse and spent most of his time drawing and watching Vincent Price movies. Attended the California Institute for the Arts and studied in animation. He was awarded a fellowship at Disney at worked on mainstream films like The Fox and the Hound and The Black Cauldron. This mainstream style was far from what he really wanted to do; he preferred more gothic themes and included Halloween and Christmas into his. Disney let him work on his own projects like Vincent and Frankenweenie. Paul Ruben's (Pee Wee Herman) liked Burton's style and asked him to make Pee Wee's Big Adventure. This hit led to Burton making films like Beetlejuice, Batman.
