1990 - 1999 Animation goes Digital

The Nightmare Before Christmas, Touchstone Pictures, U.S., 10-22-93, (76 min)
One of the coolest stop motion animations ever. This film is a great twist on traditional Christmas shows. This film almost didn't get made because Disney didn't want to take a chance on it, but Tim Burton insisted that it be made. It ended up to be a huge moneymaker for them.

Titan AE, 20th Century Fox, U.S., April 9, (94 min)
In the late 1990's animation was huge because of the huge Disney blockbusters that came out earlier. This allowed for bigger budgets for new movies that were produced by a greater range of companies. At the same time Anime was beginning to become more popular with teenagers because they were more "Story-driven and violent" than American animations. To combat this America's 20th Century Fox company released Titan AE.
