ARTC 400 Collaborative Multimedia Development Professor Bonnie Mitchell Section 003 (3) credits Phone: 372-6055 Tues./Thurs. 2:30AM - 4:50 PM Office: 109 Fine Arts Center Room 1030 Fine Arts Center Office Hours: Tuesday 11-2 pm Lab Hours: will be posted on door e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Materials: Materials: You will be responsible for the storage and backup of all material you will be working on. You will need CD-Rs, a DVD-R, miniDisks, miniDV tapes and/or multiple zips depending on the project.
Requirements: Each student is expected to show significant progress on a weekly basis. The student is responsible for the completion of the project, therefore the scope of the project must be carefully planned. There is a tendency to discuss the design for many weeks shortcutting the time needed to complete the project. Therefore design ideas must be worked out in the first two weeks of class and production must begin in the third.
Attendance: We meet once a week for one half to 1 hour. Attendance at these meetings is mandatory.
We will meet as an entire group three times during the semester (the first day of class, Thursday, March 8 and our scheduled Final Exam time.) You must also set up a regular schedule and meet with your team member for an additional 2-3 hours per week. Independent workers are excluded from this requirement. You must inform the instructor as to when you will be meeting with your team member.
1 absence = no penalty
2 absences = grade lowered one grade value
3 absences = grade lowered two grade value
4 absences = grade lowered three grade values
5 absences = fail the course
(accompanied by a doctors note)
4 or more = recommend dropping the course
Grading: Grades will be based on attendance at the weekly meetings, significant weekly progress on the project, and the final outcome of the project. All projects are expected to be completed by the end of the semester. Projects are expected to be of professional quality.
Project Usage: The projects created in this course may be published and viewable by the public. The School of Art may use the projects for the purpose of promoting the organization, student, department, and/or the university in general. These materials may also be used by the Art department for instructional purposes in future courses. The projects will not be used in any way for financial profit.
Student Concerns: Any student who wishes to discuss accommodations on the basis of a disability please come talk to me after class or during office hours. The goal of the Disability Services for Students Office is to help provide equal access and reasonable accommodations to BGSU students with disabilities. Students wishing to discuss their eligibility for such accommodations are encouraged to contact their office at 372-8495 (413 South Hall).
