Brief

Create a 30 second animation with sound in Flash CS3 to be experienced in a browser or via the Flash 9 stand-alone player.

Abstract Animation with Music

or

Sequential / Story with Sound FX


Objectives

An introduction to Flash CS3 as a tool for creating animation with sound. To develop conceptual skills related to creating abstract artwork or story-based animation.


Methodology

Develop the Project following these steps:

Flash
Learn to use Flash CS3 - develop basic to intermediate skills using this program. Utilize online resources - detailed in the readings section - to build skills.

Development
Develop concept - create storyboards for 30 second animation (suggested - minimum - do not exceed 60 seconds). At 12 fps this is the equivalent of 360 to 720 frames.

During the time for this project - along with Flash demos - there will be studio time and an opportunity for individual conferences to disucss your work


Final Version
Turn in completed .fla (build version) and .swf (published version) files and any other related files that make it functional for grading.



Constraints

Use Flash CS3 to create project

Keep overall time between 30 and 60 seconds (360 to 720 frames)

Keep dimensions to 800 px wide by 600 px high - or lower - can be other dimensions - but do not exceed 800 by 600 pixels.



Submission Requirements

Storyboards

Use storyboard paper - provided in class - or own storyboard paper - bring to class to discuss when due.

Final Version for Grading

Place all files in one folder and put them on the server in the location specified by instructor.



Grading

You will be graded on your ability to complete the assignment and meet all deadlines associated with the project.

You will be graded on concept, technical and creative aspects of your project.

This project will be worth 20% of your final grade.
