Activity Visiting Artist Juliet Davis, digital media artist, University of Tampa
Description Lecture: Fractured Cybertales: Navigating the Feminine
Juliet Davis is an artist, writer, and researcher, teaching theory and practice in interactive media, visual culture, and media writing, with particular interest in cyberfeminism. Her art has exhibited in such venues SIGGRAPH, ISEA, FILE, Institute of Contemporary Art (London), MAXXI Museum (Rome), and The International Museum of Women (USA), the Tampa Museum of Art, and others. Neal Benezra, Director of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, has honored her work for its "freshness and originality." Davis' peer-reviewed academic articles are published in Leonardo, Journal of Film and Video, Media-N, and other journals.

Description Members of the Bowling Green State University Siggraph Student Chapter attended the Ottawa International Animation Festival, including various workshops, lectures, and screenings.

Activity Visiting Artist Paul Gaboury, BGSU alumni
Description BGSU graduate Paul Gaboury visited the School of Art to discuss his role with Pixologic Zbrush and how to obtain post graduate employment. Paul Gaboury is a Digital Sculptor/3d Modeler who currently works with Pixologic ZBrush as a support specialist. Paul helps professional studios incorporate ZBrush into their pipeline. He visited BGSU to share his experience with the company, the entire industry, and also techniques to obtaining employment. Paul Gaboury gave a workshop titled, "Introduction to ZBrush" on Saturday at 12pm in the Cave Lab.

Description Animation Screening 1 "Oh, That's the NFB!" An hour of films that have helped define the style of the National Film Board of Canada and Canadian animation. Time for questions at the end. Inspiring and imaginative animations that should not be missed!

Activity Arts Extravaganza fund raising event
Description The Bowling Green State University Siggraph Student Chapter set up a booth at Arts Extravaganza and sold T-shirts. The Arts Extravaganza is an event where community members come to the school to see music, dance, and theater performances as well as visual art exhibitions and sales.

Activity Visiting Artist Aaron Halifax, Animator
Description Aaron is an insanely talented animator and former BGSU alumni. Aaron went to work at Blue Sky directly out of grad school where he worked as animator and character lead on Robots, Ice Age 2, No Time for Nuts, and pre-production on Horton Hears a Who. Aaron is presently working at Valve Software as an animator and has worked on Team Fortress 2, Left4Dead, and the Meet the Team Series for Team Fortress. Aaron gave a lecture on his journey from school to the industry. Aaron also gave a workshop on animation the following day.

Description A four part workshop on drawing and character design by award-winning children's book illustrator Dr. Catalano. The workshop focused on archetypes, poses, body construction, facial expressions, and drawing skills.
