Morin's "Narrow #5" was selected through public ballot to be purchased by the Dublin Arts Council to remain on site permanently as a gift to the city.
2. Dr. Andrew Hershberger wins Visiting Fellowship at Wolfson College, University of Oxford, UK
Dr. Andrew Hershberger, Associate Professor of Contemporary Art History, has won a visiting fellowship at Wolfson College, University of Oxford, UK. Hershberger will join the College community with Common Room privileges during Oxford's Trinity Term 2009. Wolfson has the distinction of being the largest graduate-only college at Oxford. In conjunction with his visiting fellowship at St. Hilda's College, Oxford, and his Sidney Holgate Research Fellowship at Grey College, Durham University, UK, Hershberger plans to continue his research projects on the history of photography while in England.
Janet Ballweg was selected to participate in the 7th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints which was held under the auspices of the Tosa-Washi International Committee in Kochi-ken, Japan.

6. Dr. Andrew Hershberger wins inaugural John Teti Fellowship, New Hampshire Institute of Art
Dr. Andrew Hershberger has been selected for the inaugural John Teti Fellowship at the New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA), in Manchester, NH. This $20,000 award for Fall 2008 will enable him to continue his research projects in NHIA's brand new Teti Library with its exclusively photographic Special Collections including 2,000 rare and out-of-print books dating from the earliest 19th-century publications with original prints tipped-in through to contemporary editions. Hershberger will join NHIA's Department of Liberal Arts and teach one course entitled "Pictorialism to Modernism" utilizing books and original photographic prints from the Teti Library. The Teti Library was founded in 2007 after the $1.5 million donation of the Teti Collection by Mr. John Teti, a philanthropist and avid collector of photographic history. In combination with Hershberger's multiple fellowships at Oxford and Durham Universities in the UK, Hershberger plans to continue his research projects on the history of photography at NHIA.

8. Dr. Andrew Hershberger wins Holgate Fellowship at Durham University, UK
Dr. Andrew Hershberger has won the Sidney Holgate Research Fellowship at Grey College, Durham University, UK, for Easter Term 2009. In addition to the fellow's stipend, room, and meals at Grey College, Hershberger has also been granted an office with administrative support within Durham's Institute of Advanced Study (IAS), membership within its Society of Fellows, and membership within the Durham Centre for Advanced Photography Studies (DCAPS). Durham University claims the title of England's third oldest university and it also has the distinction of being situated directly upon a World Heritage Site. In combination with Hershberger's 2008-2009 visiting fellowship at St. Hilda's College, University of Oxford, Hershberger plans to continue his research projects on the history of photography at Durham's IAS and DCAPS.

Roger Thibault is the Executive Associate Dean for Faculty, Resources, and Planning in the College of Arts and Sciences. He has been an avid supporter of the School of Art for many years.
